Ashoka Wijesinghe is an artist hailing from Hikkaduwa, located towards the southern end of the island of Sri Lanka. He completed his high school education from G/Sri Devananda college at Ambalangoda up to his Advanced Level and has identified his talent for art and painting at a very young age.
He studied his beloved artistry under the renowned art guru Kalasoori H. P. Charles at National Museum of Sri Lanka from 1998-1999 and gained a great knowledge in the art of drawing. Later he joined the Art Society of Sri Lanka in 2007 at the National Art Gallery of Sri Lanka and continued to participate in national art exhibitions and on some occasions have won valuable awards and recognitions dur to his talent and dedication to the industry.
He had been working as an active artist since 1996 where he mastered his skills in painting with oils, acrylics, pencil and pen. However, above all, he prefers oils and pencil drawings as his best work is done using these mediums.
