Chammika Jayawardena holds a BFA from the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo, Sri Lanka, and completed a four year certificate course at the Vibhavi Academy of Fine Arts. Chammika obtained his MA in Archaeology from the University of Kelaniya in 2012 and is currently reading for his MPhil at the Post Graduate Institute of Archaeology at the University of Kelaniya.
In addition to curating several exhibitions, Chammika has participated in 42 group exhibitions since 1998 where his first solo exhibition was held in 2001. He participated in the South Asian International Art Program in Tokyo in 2004, exhibited at the India Art Gallery, Pune in 2009, and the Museum of Ethnology Vienna in 2008. Chammika has also lectured at the Sri Palee Campus of University of Colombo from 2010 to 2016.
At present he is working as a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Integrated Design at the University of Moratuwa. Chammika has also taught at the Vibhavi Academy OF Fine Arts from 2007 to 2010. He has also worked as a freelance art director in film, television and commercials since 2007.
