Abstract and Impressionist Artist
Sri Lanka
Chathuri Hulangamuwa is a
self taught, abstract and impressionistic artist from Sri Lanka who loves
experimenting with various types of medium such as Acrylic paints, Alcohol Ink,
Epoxy Resin etc. As she always seeks to visualize the energy of the universe and
the expansiveness of love, her work is mostly based on galaxy themes.
For Chathuri, painting bring
her peace and offers her a place to meditate on the beauty in the world and the
grace she feels while living in it. Her highest goal is to convey the same
peace and grace to her viewers, offering a moment or pause of a feeling of deep
belonging. And she also believes that art is one of the best ways to
communicate with her inner self. She does not want to limit herself to one
medium or a style as she believes that inspirations and ideas do change with
time as the way we see the world change.
Each piece she creates is simultaneously an extension of the past or from what Chathuri has learned in her life and she believes that if a viewer stops just for a moment to view and reflect on one of her creations, then she has succeeded in her quest.
