Experimental Figurative Line Artist
Sri Lanka
Punsara Udara is an artist from Sri Lanka
who identified his talents and passion towards creating art from his younger days
and due to this, always wanted to focus his professional interests towards his
passion. After his primary schooling, Punsara entered into the Colombo Cultural
Arts University, to further study his passion. In 2013 he obtained his Visual
Arts First Class Honors Degree. He also has been a regular participant at 'Kalapola',
which is a foremost street art festival in Sri Lanka, which is organized by the
George Keys Foundation.
Punsara is an artist who does various
experiments with his drawings and drawing styles. As an artist, he prefers to
create complete drawings using line drawing techniques rather than the
traditional color schemes which is used by most artists nowadays. He believes
that lines will enable him to uplift the subtlety of natural objects displaying
detailed shapes and showcase their textures much better.
He has also used the human form and figurative creations as a subject matter in some of his creations over the years. His years of study in this area has enabled him to further develop these skills tremendously. The different rhythmic patterns the human body creates, the shades and how shadows are formed are some of the preferred areas Punsara likes to explore in his work.
