Contemporary Mixed Media Artist and Scholar

Sanath Bandara is an artist from Sri Lanka who was born and
raised in Kegalle, in Northwestern part of the island. Although he was
passionate about art and cresting art from his childhood days, he was only able
to create art professionally much later in life.
After his primary education from his native Kegalle, he
commenced his higher studies at the University of Kelaniya in the Physical
Science faculty and later obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree. Thereafter
he continued his academics to obtain his MSc in Landscape Architecture from the
University of Moratuwa and MSc in Floriculture and Landscape Architecture from
the University of Peradeniya. Sanath is currently reading for his BSc [Hons] in
Architecture from John Moores University in Liverpool, UK.
This impressive artist has also pursued studies in his favourite
art and creative subjects and obtained a diploma in Drawing and Painting at the
University of the Visual and Performing Arts Colombo, a diploma in Photography
from the National Photographic Art Society of Sri Lanka and a trade certificate
for Fashion Design. He was later employed in the private sector for 20 + years.
Sanath remembers how he was fully involved with Aesthetic environment during his school days. He is now happy to have found his peace and earns a living as a freelance Artist and Designer after retiring from the corporate life. He is an extremely skilled artist who loves making art using mixed mediums and he also loves drawing cartoons and caricature.
