Carved with an eye for intricate detail is the prince who accompanied his princess by bringing Buddha's Tooth Relic to Sri Lanka. The details of the carving, paint the picture of Prince Dantha to be protective of his princess along their long journey. He is seen as strong and alert because of the tools that he carries for self-defense. This carving is inspired by a twentieth century wall painting in the temple of Kelaniya by a local artist Solius Mendis. It is one of the most popular Sri Lankan paintings and this carving has been hand crafted to represent the significance of this incident in Sri Lankan history.
