Schizophrenic Disorder

Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. People with schizophrenia may seem like they have lost touch with reality, which can be distressing for them and for their family and friends.

The painting presents the nature of a cross section of a schizophrenic patient's brain. A significant and precise difference can be identified in a mental patient's brain in contrast to that of a regular person (this condition is known as Ventriculomegaly.) This differential nature is illustrated by using 'flames of fire' to symbolize feelings of pain, agony and pressure built and felt in the mind of such a patient.
