A Ghostly Journey

The artist uses acrylics in this piece to add layers to the painting of a ship at sail. Light, feathery lines and brushwork create and misty, foggy atmosphere as the sails out of the gray blue haze in the background towards the viewer. Almost flying out of the canvas is a small flock of seagulls that seem to lead the ship in its direction.

Behind, the ship's sails too are almost cloudy, giving the entire vessel an almost ghostly appearance. The artist's careful lines are seen in the water that casts a realistic reflection of the boat while the current moves away from the painting, helping the boat on its course.
